About

In February 2022, James Piper published The Rubbish Book, a guide aimed at helping people recycle better and with knowledge of the process. With recycling practices constantly evolving, one of the book's key commitments was to keep its content up-to-date—a task that quickly became challenging in the fast-paced world of sustainability.

To address this, James has launched the Talking Rubbish podcast. The show provides a platform for him to dive into the latest recycling issues, debunk myths, and analyse current events in the world of waste management and sustainability.

James invited his long-time friend and fellow sustainability expert, Robbie Staniforth, to co-host the podcast. Robbie, the Policy Director at a leading environmental consultancy co-owned by James, brings his extensive knowledge and passion for environmental advocacy to every episode.

Both James and Robbie are award-winning sustainability professionals committed to driving change and educating consumers. Each week, they break down complex recycling processes, tackle interesting topics, assess whether everyday items can actually be recycled, and answer listener questions.

Tune in weekly as James and Robbie sift through the facts, cut through the noise, and help you become a more informed and responsible recycler.
